News CAMCO Drives Football World Cup in Dortmund
October 2006 - Dortmund's Westfalen Halls,, which provided on-screen coverage of the 2006 World Cup for more than 220,000 people, gave Hermes Music and CAMCO the ideal opportunity to preview NEXO's new GEO D systems.

Throughout the World Cup, various events were staged in the Dortmund Westfalen Halls. Running every day from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m, the venue attracted a total of 220,000 spectators to watch live coverage of football matches and dancing to live music when there were no games. To make sure the comments of the various sports presenters could be heard above such large crowds, and to give the DJs and bands enough power to play with, event organisers FIFA asked Westfalenhallen GmbH and Hermes Music to design and implement a sound reinforcement concept optimally geared to each of the five halls.

All five halls were equipped with NEXO PA systems, powered by CAMCO DL3000 and VORTEX 6 amplifiers.

CAMCO delivered NEXO's new GEO D10 tangent array cabinets for use in the main hall no.1 and in hall 3, the first major test in Germany for the latest system from the GEO range. As expected, it passed with flying colours.

In conclusion, Wolfgang Hermes commented: "we have been working exclusively with NEXO and CAMCO equipment for about 6 years. So far the results have always been good and this new system really made a convincing impression, too, both during the sound test on the CAMCO site and at its premiere in the Westfalen Hall."
