October 2006 - Leading Czech PA company MUSICDATA chose CAMCO Vortex 6 and Tecton 38.4 amps to power a NEXO GEO S system for a
live recording of celebrated folk singer Jarek Nohavica.
Nohavica chose to give the concert in an an empty factory hall, Karolina in Ostrava, an acoustically challenging environment.
However, with 10.000 tickets for the event sold out within 20 minutes, the promoters decided to stage another concert the day
before (that too was sold out within 30 minutes!)
MUSICDATA was asked to take charge of all technical aspects of the show, including sound recording, and opted for a NEXO GEO S
tangent array system (using 56 cabinets of S805 +S830 + 4 CD12 flying). CAMCO VORTEX 6 amplifiers were used to power the GEO S PA
system, with TECTON 38.4 driving the PS10 stage monitors.
At FOH, Nohavica's engineer Tomas Ourednicek mixed on an Innovason SY80 digital console, including ES card DIO and DIOCORE as a
stagebox. Using EtherSound for the first time meant there was only one CAT5 cable as a multicore. The chain went from Innovason
Y80 to DIOCORE to NEXO NX242 TDcontrollers with NXtension cards to the mobile recording OB van, with NETCIRA conversion from ES
to ADAT and Innovason SY48 used to mix sound to picture.
